Smriti Mandhana Announces Wedding Cancellation

Indian women’s cricket team batter, Smriti Mandhana, has officially confirmed that her anticipated wedding has been canceled. Initially set for November 23 with music composer Palash Muchhal, the wedding was postponed due to Mandhana’s father’s hospitalization. Now, Mandhana has clarified through an Instagram post that the wedding will not take place.
In her statement, Mandhana expressed the need for privacy. “Over the past few weeks there has been plenty of speculation around my life and I feel it is important for me to speak out at this time,” she wrote. Mandhana asked the public and the media to respect the privacy of both families involved and allow them space to process the decision.
Focus Shifts to Cricket

Acknowledging the challenges of the situation, Mandhana reiterated her commitment to her cricket career, stating, “I believe there is a higher purpose driving us all and for me that has always been representing my country at the highest level.” She emphasized her focus on continuing to play and win for India.
Recently, Mandhana was a key player in India’s successful women’s ODI World Cup campaign, amassing 434 runs with an impressive average of 54.25. Her upcoming engagements include a five-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, slated to be played at home from December 21 to 30. Following this, she will lead the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 2026 Women’s Premier League starting January 9.
